Teiona Laster, Intern

Teiona Laster is a doctoral student in Mercer University’s Clinical Psychology program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and a concentration in Community Psychology from Georgia State University. Her clinical background includes serving as a Behavioral Specialist at a psychiatric facility where she implemented specialized treatments for children. She also gained trauma-informed experience as a research assistant with the Nia Project at Grady Memorial Hospital, conducting trauma-focused interviews with survivors. A former President of the Psi Chi International Honor Society, Ms. Laster is dedicated to advancing trauma-informed care and policy interventions that promote resilience and holistic healing for marginalized communities. At Medlin Treatment Center, Ms. Laster provides psychosexual evaluations and specialized treatment to individuals who are on probation for a sexual offense.
