Julie Medlin, Ph.D.

Dr. Medlin is a licensed psychologist and trauma expert who has over 29 years of clinical experience in evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Harvard University, and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida. Dr. Medlin specializes in conducting psychological, sexual trauma, psychosexual, and forensic evaluations. She has expertise in the fields of trauma, sexual abuse, and sexual deviancy. She founded Medlin Treatment Center in 1997 and has served as the Director since then. She has also served as the forensic evaluator for the Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation (CEASE) Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law. She has testified as an expert over 230 times in federal and state courts in 14 states in criminal and civil proceedings. She has certifications (APIT and TAP) that allow her to practice psychology via telehealth or in person in the 42 states that participate in PSYPACT.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Medlin co-authored a sex offender treatment manual, CD for mental health professionals, articles, and a book for parents. She has provided numerous trainings for mental health professionals, attorneys, judges, parents, schools, and correctional agencies.  Dr. Medlin is Past President of the Georgia Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. She also served on the Georgia Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Advisory Council and on the Georgia Sex Offender Registration Review Board. In addition, Dr. Medlin has appeared as an expert on national televisions programs for CNN and Discovery Health, as well as several nationally syndicated programs.
