Steven Knauts, Ph.D.
Dr. Knauts is a licensed psychologist. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Florida. Dr. Knauts has done clinical work at a number of forensic facilities, including the North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center and the Florida State Hospital. At Medlin Treatment Center, Dr. Knauts has worked as a psychologist for many years. He has provided group and individual therapy and conducted psychological, psychosexual, and parenting evaluations. Dr. Knauts conducts forensic psychological and psychosexual evaluations on behalf of state courts and for civil lawsuits. He has provided expert testimony to many state courts in Georgia, including jury trials.
He is the co-author of Avoiding Sexual Dangers: A Parent’s Guide to Protecting Your Child. He also co-authored a CD-ROM for use with adult sex offenders called Breaking Through Denial. Dr. Knauts is an engaging public speaker and has conducted several workshops and trainings for other mental health professionals, foster parents, attorneys, and the community. He has given presentations for organizations such as Prevent Child Abuse Georgia, Georgia CASA, Georgia Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, and National Organization for Victim Assistance.
